NRA Basic Pistol Course with MD HQL

Join us for a comprehensive 5-hour class that covers all aspects of pistol ownership and operation, specifically tailored to meet the requirements of Maryland's Handgun Qualification License (HQL). This course is perfect for beginners looking to learn the fundamentals of safe and responsible pistol ownership, as well as experienced shooters looking to brush up on their skills and stay compliant with state laws.

During this course, you will learn about firearm and range safety, shooting fundamentals, marksmanship techniques, different types of ammunition, pistol maintenance and selection, proper storage practices, and Maryland handgun laws. Our experienced instructors will guide you through each step, ensuring that you have a solid understanding of all the necessary knowledge and skills to safely and confidently handle a pistol.

Whether you are interested in self-defense, recreational shooting, or simply want to exercise your Second Amendment rights, this course will provide you with the tools and knowledge you need to become a responsible and competent pistol owner. By the end of the course, you will feel confident in your ability to safely operate a pistol and understand the legal requirements for owning and carrying a handgun in the state of Maryland.

Students will complete a live-fire qualification that meets both NRA and MD requirements. Students can either bring their own pistol and ammunition, rent a pistol at the range and purchase ammunition or they will be able to use one of our pistols if desired. Students will be responsible to bring their own eyes and ears and pay their range fee. 

Students will receive the NRA Guide to Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules Card, NRA Marksmanship Qualification booklet, and a course completion certificate.
